A 7.5 magnitude earthquake near the island of Sulawesi in Indonesia caused widespread devastation on Friday, September 28. The earthquake triggered tsunami waves up to six meters high, causing enormous devastation affecting over a million people.

In a short time, the death toll has jumped to over 830 people, with thousands more feared dead or injured, according to authorities. Many communities are still without communication, and the scale of the damage is still not fully known.

This earthquake and tsunami follow multiple strong earthquakes that struck the island of Lombok, where World Renew has been responding for the past month. World Renew’s International Disaster Response team is already in contact with local church partners and agencies to determine our response in Sulawesi.

World Renew is committed to responding to families in need.

Your support today is urgently needed to help families affected by this earthquake and tsunami.

Please consider giving generously in order to help fund this response. Please pray for families whose lives have been forever changed after this disaster.
