Since 1972, World Renew has been working with local partners in Cambodia to carry out community development programs that provide food security for families and support economic growth in rural communities.

WHAT WE DO

Cambodia has a daunting legacy of turmoil from the 20th century. Three years of devastation under the Pol Pot regime saw one-third of its people die, followed by another 15 years of civil war. Since the signed peace treaty and first election in 1993, the country has worked hard to rebuild communities and restore trust in leadership. Through training in governance, sustainable livelihoods, food security, health, and education, World Renew supports people in Cambodia to make their own decisions and take initiatives that are most important to them.

PARTNERS IN CAMBODIA

KHMER ANGKA FOR DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS (KADRA)

Using World Renew’s 10-step community organizing process, KADRA works in multiple villages to boost community health and community development in Cambodia. Programs focus on hygiene and sanitation, agriculture and food security, and youth empowerment to counter trafficking.

OCCUPATION OF RURAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND AGRICULTURE (ORDEA)

OREDA uses World Renew’s 10-step community organizing process to help rural communities boost their economic growth and help families have food security through agricultural training. Income opportunities through this partnership help families support themselves and stay together.

SUPPORT TO NATIONAL NETWORK (SNN)

Together with World Renew, SNN works to build capacity for participating churches and local nonprofit organizations in Cambodia. Through SNN, the Christian Learning Circle for Development Association (CLCDA) and the Cambodia NGO’s Capacity Building Network (CNCBN) provide training for local nonprofit leaders and church partners.
