Chad

Chad, once a holding of France, endured three decades of civil war and invasions before peace was restored in 1990. 80% of Chad’s population relies on subsistence farming and livestock raising. Chad's economy has long been handicapped by its landlocked position, high energy costs, and its history of instability.

World Renew provided food, seed, and tools to families in Chad between 2007 and 2009 as a response to their prolonged refugee crisis.  However, Chad is not part of a World Renew Ministry Team and there are no World Renew staff in this country.

World Renew Partners In Chad

World Renew partnered with six agencies in Chad and Sudan, forming The Global Relief Alliance (GRA). The group of relief and development agencies combines their resources and expertise to address large-scale urgent needs in the area. The six agencies are:

  • World Concern (WC)
  • Food for the Hungry (FH)
  • MAP
  • Christian Reformed World Relief Committee (CRWRC)
  • World Relief (WR)
  • Medical Teams International (MTI)
