The Southern Africa Ministry Team is growing in different ways.

Growing in number: We are so grateful to God for extra hands (and brains) to help us be more effective in impacting this region! Two new staff members have joined us:

  • Fatsanawo Khonje (in yellow) is our new Bridger/Partnerships Coordinator, ready to receive those of you who visit or volunteer in our region
  • Lemon Chipwatali (in blue) is supporting our staff and partners in monitoring programs and their own organizational capacity

Growing in knowledge: We continue to host many different groups of people in our office. Community leaders come to learn technical skills, like how to run a Village Savings and Loan (VSL) program or how to deal with pests in their conservation agriculture fields. Partner organization accountants come to learn about QuickBooks and good financial management practices. Program staff come to learn about gender justice.

Growing spiritually: God is teaching us many things—both individually and corporately. Sometimes He uses difficult trials to draw us closer to Him, sometimes sweet times of fellowship with other believers.  Our team has recently started learning about Truth-Centered Transformation.

Growing in impact: Over 37,000 people are being impacted by our programs in Southern Africa. Last November, we hosted the top leadership from our partner organizations. What an honor that they left their busy schedules to spend a whole day with us! One leader was even on vacation, but decided to come anyway. We had a great day of praying, sharing, meditating, learning together about the challenges in Southern Africa, and deciding how to collaborate. While at our office, leaders from our three partner denominations in Zambia committed to work collectively toward having a bigger impact on their nation. Together, they represent literally millions of people in their congregations. Praise God with us!

When people leave our office and return to their posts, they feel refreshed, sometimes a bit overwhelmed, but generally encouraged and empowered. We praise God that your gifts are making it possible for us to host these important opportunities for transformative growth, as we ourselves grow.

Praise

  • We thank God for productive team meetings
  • We are thankful for travel safety

Pray for

  • Please pray with us for good harvests despite erratic rainfall, high temperatures, and armyworm infestation
  • Pray for continued progress in language learning

Blessings,
